Your assignment:
For the procurement department of a major insurance player, we are looking for a temporary legal expert to support both day-to-day operations and the execution of the DORA remediation plan.
You will collaborate closely with buyers and experts from Compliance, the Data Privacy Office, and the Information Security Office to set up sound legal frameworks with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Act as first-line legal support for the Procurement team in drafting contracts during sourcing projects and contract renewals.
- Provide legal advice on optimal positions and wording based on risk analysis.
- Negotiate contract terms with suppliers and validate contracts prior to signature.
- Handle legal issues throughout the contract lifecycle, in collaboration with Corporate Legal.
- Contribute to standardizing legal templates and optimizing the contract process.
- Ensure contracts are updated in line with new laws and regulations, with a specific focus on integrating DORA requirements into ICT contracts.
- Align with experts in Security, Compliance, Data Privacy, AI, CSR, and other domains to legally embed their requirements.
- Collaborate with Group Legal Procurement to align on best practices and enhance the contracting framework.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree in Law and 3 to 5 years of experience in a law firm or multinational company.
- Strong experience in drafting and negotiating IT, digital, and outsourcing contracts.
- Solid understanding of the DORA regulation and its impact on ICT vendor contracting.
- Hands-on and solution-oriented with the ability to translate legal concepts into business realities.
- Proven team player who can support and advise internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and third-party risk management.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English, with a good command of either Dutch or French.
- Experience with contract standardization and process improvement is a plus.
