Legal Staffing Experts is looking for a Legal Counsel Insurance for her client.

With its headquarters in Antwerp, our client is a prominent Belgian multinational and a key player in the distribution of chemicals to emerging markets. Their innovative strategy and extensive international reach make them a leading force in the industry.

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in managing global insurance programs? You will oversee a variety of insurance matters and contribute to strengthening risk management with a focus on sustainable and forward-looking solutions.


🎯 Your mission
This will be your impact:

• Manage the entire portfolio of our client’s international insurance programs and ensure the group’s material risks are optimally covered.
• Take responsibility for claims handling, working closely with colleagues in Belgium and abroad, in collaboration with the external broker.
• Continuously seek ways to optimize the client’s insurance programs (in terms of premium and conditions) in close collaboration with the broker.
• Use your insights from (recurring) claims to collaborate with the business on operational improvements and risk prevention measures.
• Play an active role in due diligence and integration activities for insurance aspects of M&A transactions and the start-up of new business activities.
• You will be part of the legal team and, depending on your interest and experience, will assist in (other) legal claims and general legal matters.

🌟 Your profile

• A master’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Law, Economics, or Risk Management.
• Significant experience (3-5 years) in risk management and managing complex insurance programs is necessary.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance programs, including Marine Cargo, Cyber, Charterers Liability, General Liability, and D&O.
• Excellent negotiation skills and extensive experience collaborating with external brokers.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends in claims and implement risk mitigation measures.
• Experience with M&A activities, specifically related to insurance.
• Expertise in international claims handling processes.
• You are an excellent communicator and can collaborate very effectively with various departments and stakeholders worldwide.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
